Where the Time Began...

I do not know about you, but I have never thought about where time begins on our planet. Yes, I know that during the New Years Eve celebrations we begin with New Zealand and Australia, but where is this point where the Sun appears for the very first time? Well - that has never occurred to me to wonder about…

During the second week of my amazing trip to New Zealand, my friend Timmi and I went to visit that place. It was possible only because Gary Cook (I have written about him in my last week’s blog – the man, who is a true ocean of knowledge about this country) instructed us on how to get there.

So today we got in the car to conquer this part of New Zealand. Neither of us visited those places before. First we went to Castle Hill, where is the Temple of Gods – Where Gods Were Born, as the New Zealand’s aboriginal people believe. Such a claim, such energy… with seven huge rocks on it to mark the seven stages of Maori wisdom, called the Place of the Star Walkers. They call this area “the school, which never closes” as it is available 24/7 to those who are ready. Then, on the top, there is a Temple. Nothing like you and I would imagine a temple to look like. Here are a few sets of extraordinary limestone outcrops with this amazing energy, which is quite inviting, nurturing and soothing, but can also be described as dense and intense on the other hand. The Temple and the School are considered to be the most spiritual places of New Zealand. I truly believe that there is no individual, who would not feel the embracing sweetness of this place. It is so hard to leave, since you want to be immersed in that energy forever. We understood why Gary advised us to set time aside to come back there next day. Unfortunately we did not have enough time to do that. No wonder "The Lord of the Ring" series were filmed here.

In our western civilization, all 7 Steps of Wisdom and the Temple would be acknowledged, marked and made as a great tourist attraction. Here it is quite the opposite. None of them are marked; none of them are exposed especially to visitors. So we were walking the trail and touching every of the seven stones, hoping that whatever there is for us, we will receive in our own unique and special way. Both of us came without specific expectation, just with great expectancy! Only after being here you realize, that time is truly flowing and is perceived differently in specific places on the planet – Timmi said that well: “after being in the Temple area for only half an hour, I have felt like it would be 3-4 hours!” Unbelievable!

People seem to come here for fun and rock claiming, since all the rocks are quite challenging due to the perfect smoothness of their surface. All fun and play take place in lower parts of the rock formation, as going higher is harder and requires more physical exertion.

Then we drove about 10 km to see the Stone Where Time Began, which means the place when the very first ray of the Sun hits our Planet and the new day begins. The place, from which we begin to track our time. As I said, Gary told us about it and how to find it (he also mentions it in his book). On our way, to be sure, we asked a tour guide and a few locals for more direction. But – to our surprise, nobody knew about it! The place is hidden in the mystery of Mauri teaching and is so precious to them that they want to hide it from the general public.

We observed it from a distance, as it is located on a private property and – I guess – you need to arrange a time for a more private visit. But – on the other hand – being too close would not have given us this majestic picture of the shape of the stone, which stands out in a monumental form above all what exists there! It makes you wonder again and again – what is my role in all that natural order of things? Is there anything I can add or do to preserve that logically amazing and spiritually overwhelming planet?

Fascinating! Amazing energy! True spiritual experience.
