Before “King Tut” time Egypt was divided in two parts: Upper and Lower Egypt, and Kings or Pharaohs were given the title ”King of Upper and Lower Egypt”.
In royal regalia Upper Egypt was represented by the white crown and Lower Egypt by the red crown.Each crown was related to a goddess – Nekhbet the vulture (Upper Egypt) and Wadjyt the cobra (Lower Egypt).
Kings wore these symbols on their brows to protect them from their enemies.
