Description
Astrological – navigational talisman from Mediterranean region (18th Cent.). Used by travelers especially during virgin, faraway sea voyages to find destination, right direction and avoid unpredictable obstacles. The sign was also supposed to bring precious trophies, treasures and wealth, as well as provoke meetings with interesting people and customs. At the same time it had protective power against tribal practices and rituals. It also ensured good fate on the way back home.
