Celebrations

Majority of us celebrate our own holidays over the course of the year.

Those of you, who read my blog from time to time know, that I always try to look for things, which connect us. So today I would like to talk about one special day in December, which applies to all of us, regardless of our believe system or religion we follow. The day, which – even if neglected and ignored – has an energetic influence on all of us.

You probably know by now that I am referring to Winter Solstice, which is celebrated on the 21st or 22nd of December every year. It takes 24 hours for this amazing energy to connect and work with people around the world without exceptions. It does not recognize gender, race or location. It does not pay attention if you are an ally or an enemy.

The beauty of this time lies in an enormous shift when the feminine energy changes into a masculine one. Time, when we pay farewell tribute to the time of darkness, short days and recuperating, and opening the door to light, actions and new endeavors. Some of us attend rituals, during which this honor is expressed verbally, but most people totally ignore it. Why? Well… either they do not know about it or consider it to be a part of witchcraft.

Not many understand that Winter Solstice is immensely important to our Planet. It is time of its reawakening and another “new beginning” since the God of Sun awakens and will be significantly present for a whole half of the year. It is time to recuperate before next season of planting, growing and then harvesting… It is time for energy of the Planet to get stronger and very potent, so it will be able to provide for all of us, humans, living on its surface.

Winter Solstice means the same for humans – time of re-birthing, awakening, beginning of creation of “plan of action” for the next year. Let’s not forget that it is Winter Solstice, which marks the “Twelve Days of Christmas”. It is Winter Solstice, which brought us the Yule Log due to the name of a Scandinavian god Jolner. It is, finally, time to ponder upon our goals for the New Year and the ways and means to get them. We should all take advantage of this amazing 24 hours, during which not only our energy but literally all our life changes!

If you wish, make time to sit down and work out your list of goals, dreams and desires for next year. The best is to write them on parchment paper. You may choose to use a pencil rather then a pen, as graphite contains lead, which holds and conducts energy better (it is also easier to write on parchment paper with a pencil, by the way). You may do that sitting in darkness with only a candle as a source of light. Then go outside and bury it in the ground. Give it to Mather Earth to absorb them, transmute them and help you manifest them. Oh! and do not forget to celebrate after words! Take a glass of wine, your favorite dessert etc. as it is a time of celebration. (In the past about Jule time the wine was finally fermented and drinkable for the first time of that year.)

Get wild, express your goals on the paper without limits, then work toward your goals for the whole year and you will see outstanding results by the next Winter Solstice. Good Luck!
