Dowsing rods as dowsing tools are known to humanity for as long as pendulums. Ancient cultures used to use dowsing rods (called at that time “divining rods”) to find water and natural resources layers deep in the ground.

There are many different types of rods plus quite a few variation of this kind to achieve better results in certain fields. They all have one common factor though—they are used to detect or search for vibrations emitted from an outside source. Therefore, they are a receiver of vibrations without the ability to generate them. Some rods have a “witness chamber” to increase their sensitivity by placing a sample (witness) in it of what is being searched for.
